von der
Silberquelle Great Dane kennel
History:
In 1985 our family decided to buy a black dog, only for hobby at
that time. Ten months later we also possessed a harlekin bitch
which was followed by another black one.
In those days only the Czech-line dogs were available that were
considered to be rather good quality in Hungary.
In 1991 my father became a member of the ”Deutsche Dogge club”
in Germany. Seeing the publications issued by the club and the
foreign exhibitors’ dogs at CACIB exhibitions we determined
that we could make the progress-up only by the full replacement
of our resources.
The first step was taken in 1993 when we obtained our first
imported German harlekin bitch / Baccara von Haus Kamitz / that
commenced the commenced the replacement of our resources. Finally
„von der Silberquelle” kennel was
established under my name in 1994.
We proceeded to change the face of our enterprise with two
imported Belgian bitches / Tess and Vita van de Pelterdog /. We
had them covered abroad /
Germany, Belgium, Italy, Poland /, which defined the qaulity of
the dogs born in our kennel.
Harlekin and black colours are the characteristics of the kennel
but we rambled into th blue colour for two litters.
Dayton von der Silberquelle blue dog and Dalma von der
Silberquelle blue bitch fulfilled the hopes we nursed into them.
Unfortunately Dayton died of spinal marrow infarction at the age
of 20 months, which comcluded the successes we had begun.
In 2001. we bought Torino von Csúf Márky bringle bitch that
made successes during the exhibition season in 2002. Later on we
look on her as a breeding bitch.
In conclusion we have to say many thanks to those – inland and
abroad –whose knowledge and positive attitude have helped our
work. The list would be long but it is essential to mention the
following persons, as „von der Silberquelle” kennel could not
follow its current trend without their assist. We found really
good friends in them:
Jozef van Beek, Arno Kleikers
